Jane F. Garvey
Jane F. Garvey has been writing about food and wine among other subjects since the 1980s, beginning with "Southern Homes" magazine. Starting in the early 1990s, she wrote a weekly wine column for "The Atlanta Journal-Constitution," and then beginning in 2005 wrote and taught about wine for the Atlanta Wine School, now housed at Vino Venue, for several years. Also writing regularly for "Georgia" magazine on a variety of topics, including food and wine, she has contributed articles about wine for "Lake Oconee Living" magazine. ,Jane helps direct The Georgia Trustees Wine & Spirits Challenge, a competition for Georgia-produced wine and spirits. From time to time, she does classes on wine for various organizations and private parties. In addition to a doctorate in Romance languages (UGA), Jane has earned the Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW) from the Society of Wine Educators.
