Jovan Sage is a food alchemist, herbalist, grower, wellness coach and reformed restauranteur. Based in the Deep South on Georgia’s coast where her days are steeped in transforming seeds into plants and plants into warming teas, hearty medicine and delicious dishes.
She guides the healing work of Sage’s Larder - a wellness company that focuses on the intersections of healing and pleasure through food. She was the owner of The Farmer & The Larder – a restaurant and culinary event space that focused on exploring shared foodways and culture which received a James Beard nomination before closing in December 2018.
She has spent the last 10 years focusing on sustainability, food and agriculture -- including working as a food retail consultant, a Director for Slow Food USA and a consultant with Southern Sustainable Agriculture Working Group.
Before moving to Georgia four years ago, she lived, roof-top gardened, and urban chicken-keeped in Brooklyn, New York.
