Mark Rashap is the Area Manager for Central & West Texas, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi and Oklahoma for Broadbent Selections. While studying Spanish and Math at  Rutgers University, he spent a year abroad in Spain. He attended the Fira del Vi Wine festival in Priorat. It was this experience and a bottle of 2000 Finca L'Ermita, tasted at the festival that hooked him completely and pushed him to pursue a careeer in wine.

 

Mark is a Certified Wine Educator (CWE) and was Director of Wine Education for the Wine and Food Foundation of Texas in Austin. He passed level 3 of the WSET in 2018 and has a Diploma in Wine Management from a program co-run by UC-Davis & Alta Direccion in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Mark spent the last several years working for The Society of Wine Educators. Prior to that he was the Wine Educator for Spec's Wines and spent time as Assistant Winemaker of the Note Bene Cellars in washington State.

 

For the last three years, Mark hosted and produced a weekly radio show and podcast, Another Bottle Down on KOOP91.7. He is an avid traveler, he loves old Country Music and the Delta Blues, and he is always on a mission for more knowledge. Mark is based in Austin, TX where he lives with his wife, Shannon.

The Savannah Food & Wine Festival is presented by the Tourism Leadership Council, a 501-(c) 6 organization, and The AdFish Group, with proceeds benefiting the TLC Scholarship Fund, with educational opportunities for hospitality program students in colleges and universities in the Coastal Empire and many local charitable organizations.
